Anna Houston

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Anna Houston with the Union Track and Field Team. Anna placed at state in the pole vault her sophomore season. She no longer competes in the vault and has moved on to the hurdles, long jump and triple jump. Anna garnered 38 points in the Four Rivers Conference Track Meet in Owensville leading her team to the conference title. She was named the Four Rivers Conference Athlete of the Season. Anna plans to run track in college and while she has narrowed her choices on a school, she hasn't made a final decision. Anna is also an honor roll student.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Scottie Upshall scored the game-winning goal early in the third period to help the Blues slip by the Blue Jackets 3-1 at the Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko added his 14th goal of the season and Jake Allen made 23 saves to earn the win for St. Louis, which improved to 15-6-and-3. Ryan Johansen tallied the lone goal for Columbus, which had won two straight. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 of 31 shots in the loss.
