The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Sophomore Cross Country Runner Mikayla Reed from Washington High School. Mikayla has already accumulated a lost list of accomplishments in the first couple of years of her high school career. As a Freshman, she was fifth in the 3200 Meter Run at the state track and field championships and had the third fastest time ever by a Freshman. John Lackey hurled seven-and-a-third frames of shutout ball to lift the Cardinals past the Cubs, 4-0, in Game One of their National League Division Series at Busch Stadium. Lackey struck out five batters and walked one to earn the win. Tommy Pham drilled a solo shot for the Cards, and Stephen Piscotty capped off the scoring with a two-run dinger.
