Union Woman Barely Escapes Domestic Assault

A Union woman barley escapes a domestic assault over the weekend. The Union Police Department responded to the 400 block of Hall Avenue to reports of a shot being fired and domestic assault. The man assaulted his wife by repeatedly punching and slapping her. She then locked herself in the bathroom but her husband managed to force the door open and began choking his wife while pinning her down in the bathtub. He then displayed a semi automatic pistol and fired the weapon. The bullet did not hit the woman but the struggle continued until police arrived on the scene. The Union man was taken into custody; his name is being with held pending charges.

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
