Union Police Looking for Suspect in String of Burglaries

The Union Police Department has one suspect in custody and are currently looking for another following an extensive theft investigation. Over the past few days, 20 year old Jacob Donius and 21 year old Justin Mitchalk have been breaking into local union business and homes. After yesterdays breakā€“in at The North Side Quick Stop Union Police reviewed surveillance video and identified the two men. Thursday afternoon the two suspects were located at a residence in the 600 block of North Washington. When police moved in, the two suspects fled westbound toward the Union Swimplex. During the chase Donius was arrested and a backpack, containing numerous stolen items, from the recent home invasions and break-ins were recovered, as well as other items which were later identified by other victims. Justin Mitchalk eluded officers after an extensive foot chase, followed by a search in areas in the northern part of Union between Potomac court and Independence Dr. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Justin Mitchalk, you are encouraged to contact the Union Police Department at 636-583-3700 or the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Post 218 Junior American Legion Baseball Team. Gus pitches, plays shortstop and bats third on the Junior Legion team that won the state championship in Blue Springs over the weekend. He posted the save in a 4-3 win over Festus in the title game. His batting average is .400 with 47-rbi and 47 runs scored. As a pitcher, he's 5-0 with an ERA of 1.631 and a WHIP of .961.
