A Suspect is in Custody for a Recent Crime Spree in Union

Michael Douglas Tauchert, a 19 year old man, was arrested by Union police after using a stolen credit card at the Wal-Mart in Union. On September 25, 2012, Jennifer Scott reported her purse being stolen from her vehicle. Wal-Mart was contacted and video of the suspect using the card was obtained. Union police then proceeded to locate a direction of travel from Wal-Mart. An officer located Tauchert’s vehicle about two blocks away. Tauchert was contacted and admitted to stealing the purse and using the stolen card in Wal-Mart. There were also items purchased with several other stolen purses and wallets. The items purchased were recovered. Michael Douglas was charged with burglary of the first degree and being held on a $5,000 bond. A second suspect, Brendon Sue Harris, is being charged with receiving stolen property and is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

I am a woman. I would be more than happy to have more money in my paycheck. Too bad the Paycheck Fairness Act won't do that for me. Who wants "equality" if it comes because everyone makes less money?

Wily Peralta pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 at Miller Park. Peralta allowed six hits and a walk over six and a third innings to improve to 2-and-0 with the win. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jonathan Lucroy singled home two runs for Milwaukee, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Joe Kelly gave up just an unearned run in four innings, but took the loss.
