Sullivan Smash and Grab

Sullivan police are asking for the public’s help following a smash and grab crime spree. Early Tuesday morning, the Sullivan Police Department responded to the Wilcox Jewelry store located on West Main Street after the owner had arrived and discovered a front window had been broken out and several items were stolen. About 20 minutes later, police discovered a window broken out and 8 guitars stolen from the Westgate Music store located a few blocks away on North Clark Street. While responding to that theft, another front window was found broken out at the nearby Reboot Computers and More computer store on East Euclid Street where 5 laptops were stolen. Evidence was located at the various scenes and surveillance video is being reviewed by investigators. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sullivan Police Department.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Sophomore Guard Kyra Hardesty. Kyra scored 59 points in a game against Pacific leading the Lady Jays to an 85-80 overtime win over the Lady Indians. She shot 61% from the floor, hit 20-of-33 field goal attempts, seven of 11 beyond the arc and 12-of-15 free throws. For the season, Kyra is averaging 21.4 points, three rebounds, 3.72 assists and 2.24 steals per game.

It will be quiet at the Cardinals' spring training complex today. Although a few pitchers are slated to throw side sessions, manager Mike Matheny is giving most of his players the day off before the Grapefruit League slate begins. The Cards did a "27 outs" defensive drill yesterday. The Cardinals play their first spring game tomorrow. The Cards take on the Miami Marlins in the Grapefruit League opener at 12:05 p.m. at Roger Dean Stadium.
