Stanton Man Arrested for Assault

An assault in Franklin County over the weekend lands a Stanton man in jail. County deputies determined that several people were visiting at the residence on the 700 block of Hammer Stone Place near Stanton when an argument began. At one point, one individual was struck on the side of the face with an object causing a laceration to his face. He was transported by Sullivan Ambulance to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan with non-life threatening injuries. A 41 year old Stanton man was arrested for investigation of assault.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Garrett Leimkuehler, Sophomore Quarterback for the Hermann Bearcats. Garrett has completed 58% of his passes, 22 of 38 for 441 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also carried the ball 36 times for 371 yards for 13 touchdowns and he is averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

On Saturday, September 6, our family lost a dear friend to a car accident. Listeners know her as Lexi the Impulse Puppy. It surprised us a bit just how much the loss struck us--a tribute to just how much that dog loved us--and just how much we loved that dog. Dogs are not the same as people, but they certainly tap into the very best of us.

The Cowboys erased an early 21-point deficit then held on late for a 34-31 win over the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome. DeMarco Murray ran for 100 yards and a touchdown while Tony Romo threw for 217 yards with two scores and an interception. Dez Bryant finished with six catches for 89 yards and a TD while Bruce Carter intercepted a pass and returned it 25 yards for a score as Dallas improved to 2-and-1.
