St. Clair Woman Killed in Crash

A St. Clair woman was killed yesterday following a two vehicle Accident on Dry Branch Road. The Highway Patrol says Janet C. Pilla crossed the center line and hit head on with a vehicle driven by 17 year old Kelsey Duncan of St. Clair. Pilla was pronounced dead at the scene by St Clair emergency crews shortly before 9:30 am. According to the patrol says both the women were wearing their seatbelts and Duncan was not injured in the crash. The accident occurred a little over a mile west of Highway WW on Dry Branch road.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

Wily Peralta pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 at Miller Park. Peralta allowed six hits and a walk over six and a third innings to improve to 2-and-0 with the win. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jonathan Lucroy singled home two runs for Milwaukee, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Joe Kelly gave up just an unearned run in four innings, but took the loss.
