Sheriff’s Department on the Lookout For Mailbox Vandals

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is on the lookout for some mailbox vandals. Over the past few days, the Sheriff’s Office has received several reports of mail box vandalism in rural areas east and west of Washington. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting individuals living in Washington to be extra observant of noises or parked or idling vehicles in their area and report their suspicions to the Sheriff’s Office at 636-583-2567.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Swimmer Michael Matthews from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Michael medalled in two events at the state swim meet at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. He took 7th in the 50-Yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100-Yard Butterfly. Michael also medalled in four events in the AAA Conference meet, helping Borgia secure the conference title.

Max Pacioretty scored twice on his 26th birthday as the Canadiens cruised to a 4-1 win over the Blues at the Bell Centre. Vladimir Tarasenko scored the lone goal in the first period for St. Louis, which fell to 0-and-2 on its four-game road trip. Jake Allen allowed all four goals on 30 shots in the setback. The Blues skate in Ottawa tomorrow.
