PSC Hearings Scheduled for Coal Ash Landfill in Labadie

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold hearings, beginning Monday, on a coal ash landfill in Labadie. Ameren Missouri seeks to expand its coal ash landfill site by April of 2016 but must first get approval by the Public Service Commission. Representatives from Ameren will also attend, arguing its landfill would be safe for the surrounding environment.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Senior Bethany Coons. Bethany finished the basketball season at Union averaging 11 points and eight assists per game. Coach Dusty Weiskopf says Bethany is good at handling the basketball and teams would find it difficult to press Union when Bethany was in the game because of her lateral movement. When combining her scoring and assist averages, Bethany was contributing about 25 points per game.
