Narcotics Unit Looks to Clean up Problem House

4 people were arrested this week at a St. Clair residence that is well known to the Franklin County Narcotics Unit. Deputies arrived at the residence, located on the 12 hundred block of Forest Hills Drive, and discovered two suspects outside. One suspect, a 30 year old Union man, had methamphetamine on his person while the other suspect, a 50 year old man from St. Clair, was found to have a scale in his vehicle. The Narcotics Unit was not given consent to search the residence so they applied for warrant. Despite the warrant, The 4 people in the house refused to open the door and the narcotics unit broke it down. 2 more suspects were arrested. Detective Scott Briggs with the Narcotics Units says this residence on Forest Hills Drive is so well know to law enforcement for drug activity that additional charges and action may be taken. The residence is within 2000 feet of St. Clair High School and the 27 year old man arrested for the distribution of meth could also be facing a class A felony for selling the drug so close to a school. Detective Briggs says additional action can be taken to declare the property a nuisance and evict its residents.
