Missouri Legislators Consider New Abortion Bill

Missouri legislators are considering another abortion bill. A measure to extend the mandatory waiting period prior to an abortion to 72 hours is among over 20 other measures involving abortion before the State Legislature. Most of the bills come with new restrictions and rules which zero in on the process a woman has to go through in order to have an abortion. More than two dozen states have a waiting period before an abortion but just Utah and South Dakota require women to wait 72 hours.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Baseball Player Kyle Ruediger from New Haven High School. At the plate, Kyle has a team leading .486 average with 14 rbi, two triples and six doubles. He has struck out just five times while drawing 11 walks. Kyle also has seven stolen bases on the year. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Early Thursday morning, I received news that vandals had broken in to St. Francis Borgia Grade School in Washington, causing extensive damage to several classrooms and offices. School was closed for the day as the Washington Police Department went about their business of securing what had changed from a school community to a crime scene overnight.
