Man Drops Cocaine in Franklin County School

A St. Louis man is in big trouble with Franklin County authorities after a bag of cocaine fell out his pocket while he was at his child’s school. The incident happened on Monday at Nike School in Catawissa. It was reported that someone witnessed a small baggie fall from a parent’s pocket. The bag was recovered by school officials and turned over to deputies. The following morning, police observed the parent dropping off his child at the school. They conducted a traffic stop and took the man in to custody for driving while revoked. While searching the suspect deputies located a large sum of money and two plastic baggies containing a substance believed to be cocaine. The 36 year old St. Louis man was transported to the Franklin County Jail for investigation of narcotics violations by possessing narcotics within a school zone.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Owensville Sophomore Cross Country Runner Carter Bracato. Carter finished 13th in Class 3 with the best time of any local runner at state. He attacked the Oak Hill Golf Club Course in Jefferson City finishing with a time of 16:50.67, leading Owensville to a 6th place finish in the team standings.

The 2014/15 local high school basketball season tips off tonight with the 62nd Annual Thanksgiving Tournament at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Three games are on tap tonight with Cardinal Ritter going up against Rockwood Summit at 5:30. McCluer North plays Carnahan at 7:00, then Washington takes the floor against CBC at 8:30. The Washington/CBC game will be broadcast live on KLPW-AM 1220.
