Franklin County Took top Honors Over the Weekend for Youth Firearm

According to the Department of Conservation, Franklin County took top honors over the weekend of November 2, 2012 for youth firearm season. Agent Todd Wright says that statewide, a total of 19,272 deer were harvested. Franklin County came in number one with a total of 417 deer. The full firearm season will begin on November 10, 2012 and run until November 20, 2012.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Varsity Soccer Goalie Camron Shipley. Camron made countless saves in Washington's 1-0 win over Borgia Saturday night at Jim Scanlan Stadium at Washington High School. The game was scoreless through regulation and two overtimes and Shipley only gave up one goal in the shootout. Camron is a senior and this is his first year playing soccer.

When people threaten violence or blankly label one as a racist, it's very hard to listen. The same holds true for those who sum up the plight of impoverished black communities as "that's how those people are."
