Franklin County Election Results

The results for Presidential/Vice Presidential election for Franklin County were as follows: Obama/Biden received 16,294 which is 34.86%, Romney/Ryan received 29,271 votes which is 62.62%, and Johnson/Gary received 833 votes which is 1.78%.

In the U.S. Senator election, Franklin County’s voters voted 21,746 or 47.08% for Claire McCaskill, 21.194 votes or 45.88% for Todd Akin, and 3,163 votes or 6.85% for Jonathan Dine.

In the race for Missouri Governor, Jeremiah W Nixon received 22,782 votes which is 49.21%, David Spence received 22,247 votes which is 48.05%, and Jim Higgins received 1,249 votes, which is 2.07%.

In the election for Lieutenant Governor, Susan Montee received 16,165 votes which comes to 35.57%, Peter Kinder received 26,106 votes which comes to 57.45%, Matthew Copple received 1,483 votes which comes to 3.26%, and Cynthia L Davis received 1,666 votes which comes to 3.67%.

The results for Secretary of State were as follows: Jason Kander received 18,838 votes which is 41.92%, Shane Schoeller received 24,240 votes which is 53.94%, Cisse W Spragins received 1,268 votes which is 2.82%, and Justin Harter received 571 votes which is 1.27%.

In the running for State Treasurer, Franklin County’s votes went 21,001 or 46.75% to Clint Zweifel, 21,865 votes or 48.67% to Cole McNary, and 2,032 votes or 4.52% to Sean O’Toole.

In the race for Attorney General, Chris Koster received 22,268 votes which comes to 49.20%, Ed Martin received 21,129 votes which comes to 46.69%, and Dave Browning received 1,840 votes which comes to 4.07%

In the running for U.S Representative for district 3, Eric C. Mayer received 13,776 votes which comes out to 30.53%, Blaine Luetkemeyer received 26,650 votes which comes out to 65.70%, and Steven Wilson received 1679 votes which comes out to 3.72%.

For State Representative for District 61, Franklin County’s votes went 3,203 or 27.54% to Michael Sage and 8,420 or 72.40% to David Schatz.

In the race for District 109 State Representative, Franklin County’s voting results went 7,148 votes or 42.29% to Ann Schroeder and 9,741 votes or 57.63% to Paul Curtman.

The Commissioner Second District results were as follows, 7,942 votes or 38.57% To Teresa Connelly and 12,596 votes or 61.32% to Michael A. Schatz.

In the race for Assessor in Franklin County, Angela J. Beckett received 15,954 votes which comes out to 35.53%, Tom Copeland received 27,264 votes which comes out to 60.71%, and Robert Trokey received 1,664 votes which comes out to 3.71%.

In the race for Public Administrator, Mary Jo Straatmann received 22,651 votes which comes out to 50.35% and Julie Bowen received 22,288 votes which comes out to 49.54%.

In making a decision over Constitutional Amendment 3, Franklin County votes went 9,081 votes or 20.86% yes and 34,444 votes or 79.14% no.

Proposition A received 27,460 or 63.095 yes votes and 16,066 votes or 36.91% no.

In deciding upon Proposition E, Franklin County votes went 28,706 votes (65.32%) yes and 15,242 votes (34.68%).

In voting for County of Franklin Question, 20,666 votes (45.93%) were yes and 24,325 votes (54.07%) were no.

The City of Gerald Proposition votes went 318 votes(62.60%) yes and 190 votes (37.40%) no.

The Strain-Japan R-XVI School question votes went 258 votes or 55.66% yes and 210 or 44.34% no.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Junior Legion Baseball Team. Gus played shortstop and occasionally pitched during the season. His numbers are impressive. Batting average .409, on-base percentage .504 with a slugging percentage of .582. Gus lead the team not only with his average but also in RBI with 26, triples with five and stolen bases with 28.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

St. Louis held training camp over the weekend but will be off today before resuming practice tomorrow. Quarterback Sam Bradford practiced on back-to-back days for the first time since suffering his season ending knee injury. St. Louis will put the pads on early this week as they prepare for their preseason contest against the Saints on August 8th.
