Franklin County Deputies Save Suicidal Man

Franklin County Deputies and O’Fallon police teamed up to save the life of a suicidal St. Peters man. O’Fallon police contacted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department after the man threatened to kill himself and purchased a hand gun to do so. The 30 year old man drove to Fox Creek Rd in Franklin County where he has relatives. Police made contact by phone at which point he made suicidal statements and claimed he was going to shoot anyone that would try to stop him. As deputies arrived the man was riding a four wheeler on Fox Creek Rd at a very high rated speed. He saw the deputies, made a sharp turn and overturned. Deputies recovered a loaded hand gun from his pocket before he was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment and psychiatric observations.
