Attempted Murderer Gets Probation

A Franklin County man who broke into a woman's home and threatened her at gunpoint won't get prison time for the crime. Michael Murphy cut a plea deal with prosecutors in Franklin County that will get him five years probation for the robbery back in February. The victim told police Murphy tried to kill her, but when he pulled the trigger twice the gun didn't fire. Murphy is still in jail at this time on probation violations from a previous crime.
