Art Fair and Wine Fest Coming to Washington This Weekend

The 32nd Annual Downtown Washington Fine Art Fair & Winefest is coming up this weekend in downtown Washington. This unique festival in the heart of Missouri wine country draws visitors each spring from across the Midwest. Over 60 wines from 14 Missouri wineries will be poured for tasting, and knowledgeable winery representatives will be on hand to talk about their products at the largest all-Missouri winery tasting event. Admission to the wine tasting is $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and includes a souvenir wineglass. Visitors to the wine tasting area will also have the opportunity to win a special wine basket prepared by a participating winery. Hours are: 5-10 PM Friday; Noon-10 PM Saturday; and Noon-5 PM Sunday.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Sophomore Baseball Player Drew Reed with the Union Wildcats. Drew is off to a terrific start to the season. In ten official at bats, Drew has an average of .700, seven hits, five singles and two doubles, and leads the team with six runs batted in. Number one position is catcher, but coach Ryan Bailey will also use him as a pitcher.

Washington competed in the Bogey Hills Invitational, hosted by St. Charles. Low scores for Washington carded by Matt Hoemann and Eric Hasenjaeger, four over par 75's.
