17 Year Old Holds Up St. Clair Gas Station

A 17 year old is facing first degree robbery charges after holding up a St. Clair gas station on Monday. A St. Clair police officer was already on the scene conducting a traffic stop when a witness to the robbery informed the officer the suspect just robbed the One Stop gas station with a knife, and then fled on foot toward the Crescent Village Mobile Home Park. Police discovered the teen entered the gas station and threatened to kill the clerk if she didn’t hand over the money in the register. On his way out the door a customer in the gas station pushed the teen to the ground and he dropped a majority of the money. The suspect was found in the 100 block of Quail Ridge in the trailer park. Police discovered evidence from the robbery and arrested the 17 year old from St. Clair.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Senior Bethany Coons. Bethany finished the basketball season at Union averaging 11 points and eight assists per game. Coach Dusty Weiskopf says Bethany is good at handling the basketball and teams would find it difficult to press Union when Bethany was in the game because of her lateral movement. When combining her scoring and assist averages, Bethany was contributing about 25 points per game.
