UPDATE: Illinois Man Steal Pacific Woman's Car

UPDATE: According to Pacific Police Chief Matt Mansell, a male subject who was driving the stolen Chevy Cobalt was shot during a traffic stop by a Wood River police detective today. It has not been confirmed whether or not the man is the individual wanted by Pacific Police. He remains in the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. Mansell says the officer who the fired at the man felt threatened during the stop.

The Pacific Police Department responds to a stolen vehicle call last evening. A 2006 Chevy Cobalt was pinched off First Street just before nine-twenty. Police Chief Matt Mansell says the department has identified the suspect, a 22-year Wood River Illinois man. The man dropped off another stolen vehicle from Wood River in Pacific last night before grabbing the Cobalt. Chief Mansell says the Wood River department has been notified about the incident. Pacific Police hope to complete their investigation when the man taken into custody by metro east police.
