Trent Leimkuehler

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Senior Legion Baseball Player Trent Leimkuehler. Trent has put up some impressive numbers so far this season. The Post 218 Center fielder is currently hitting .537 with 22 runs batted in and 18 runs scored. He has two home runs, two triples and nine doubles. He also plays good defense in the outfield with good speed and a strong arm. Leimkuehler gradated from Borgia Regional High School in 2012. He played college baseball at Jefferson College in Hillsboro this past year.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Spencer is the Ace of the pitching staff with a 4-0 record. He has given up just one run this season and currently sports an earned run average of .33. Spencer has allowed 11 hits in 21 innings but no extra base hits. He has struck out 16 while walking two for a strike out to walk ratio of 8.1.

The Wild established the upper hand in a back-and-forth series with a 4-1 win over the Blues at the Scottrade Center. After the Blues took an early lead, the Wild reeled off four goals. Marco Scandella tied it in the first, and then Nino Niederreiter and Mikko Koivu lit the lamp in the second to put Minnesota up for good. Charlie Coyle iced the cake in the final period, and Devan Dubnyk made 36 saves as the Wild lead the series, 3-2.
