Sierra Pryor

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Sierra Pryor from Sullivan High School. Sierra was the Most Valuable Player in the First Peoples Bank Holiday Classic Tournament. She scored 52 points in the three tournament games leading Sullivan to the championship. Pryor is averaging 14 points and five rebounds per game. She has also drained eight three pointers. In addition, Pryor is averaging 2.5 assists and 3.25 steals. She has helped guide Sullivan to an 8-0 record going into the break.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Post 218 Senior Legion Baseball Player Aaron Meyer. Aaron is a pitcher and third basemen for the team this summer. He has hit third in the order and has maintained an average above .300 throughout the season. His current average is .321 with an on base percentage of .396. Aaron leads the team with 22 RBI, two home runs and two triples He has also scored 15 runs.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

Washington is off to a good start in pool play from the Blue Springs Wood Bat Tournament. Post 218 shutout the Gravette Lions from Arkansas 7-0. Ryan Becszlko finished with two sacrifice bunts, a double and two batted in as Washington improved to 23-9 on the season.
Washington will be in action again today with a 2:00 match-up against Post 339 from Bellevue, Nebraska. The Tournament will run through Sunday
