Sam Deschenes

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Sam Deschenes with the Washington Post 218 Senior Legion Baseball Team. Sam finished the season with .243 batting average, 38 runs scored and 17 batted in. He finished the regular season second in stolen bases with 13. Deschenes homered in the state tournament in Sedalia. He played left field for a team that finished 39-10, won the state title and advanced to the regional in New Orleans. Deschenes graduated from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington this past spring.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Senior Legion Baseball Player Trent Leimkuehler. Trent has put up some impressive numbers so far this season. The Post 218 Center fielder is currently hitting .551 with 20 runs batted in and 16 runs scored. He has two home runs, two triples and eight doubles. He also plays good defense in the outfield with good speed and a strong arm.
