Noah Borgerding

THe KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Post 218 Senior Legion First Baseman Noah Borgerding. Borgerding has the third highest batting average on the team-.371. He also second on the team in runs batted in with 23 with 22 runs scored. He has seven doubles, one triple and one home run. In the field, Borgerding is rock solid at first base with only two errors to this point. Borgerding is a very good athlete and can play just about any position including catcher. He graduated from Borgia Regional High School this past spring. He wants to play baseball in college, but hasn't selected a school.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Garrett Leimkuehler, Sophomore Quarterback for the Hermann Bearcats. Garrett has completed 58% of his passes, 22 of 38 for 441 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also carried the ball 36 times for 371 yards for 13 touchdowns and he is averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

On Saturday, September 6, our family lost a dear friend to a car accident. Listeners know her as Lexi the Impulse Puppy. It surprised us a bit just how much the loss struck us--a tribute to just how much that dog loved us--and just how much we loved that dog. Dogs are not the same as people, but they certainly tap into the very best of us.

The St. Louis Cardinals are into the playoffs despite a 7-2 loss to the Reds at Busch Stadium. The Cards clinched their fourth consecutive playoff berth with Milwaukee's loss to Pittsburgh and currently lead the Pirates by two-and-a-half games in the NL Central. Jay Bruce homered twice and knocked in three, Devin Mesoraco hit a three-run blast and Todd Frazier also went deep for the Reds, who snapped a six-game losing streak.
