Athlete of the Week42.mp3The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Nick Ziegler. The Union Wildcat Sophomore is averaging 19-points through the first four games of the season. He scored 24 against North Tech in the consolation final of the Bank of Old Monroe Tip-Off Classic at Winfield High School last week.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven. He is also a very good student.
Undoubtedly, the capture of Boston marathon bombing "Suspect #2"--as named by law enforcement--has quickly brought the issue of Islamic terrorism to the forefront.

Union will host Helias in the Class 2 Sectional. The game is 5:00 at Union Middle School. Union is 17-5 going in while Helias is 14-8. The winner will advance to the quarterfinal Saturday.
Baseball...
Sullivan will host Logan-Rogersville in the Class 4 Sectional. Game time is 4:00.
