Drew Piontek

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Freshman American Legion Baseball Player Drew Piontek. Drew was a key player in Washington's run to the state title this year. He led the team in several areas. Batting average .440 with eight doubles and two triples, 24 runs batted in and 35 runs scored. Drew finished the season with an on-base percentage of .539 and a slugging percentage of .536. In more than 155 at bats, Drew struck out just 12 times and was walked 21 times. In addition, Drew had 21 stolen bases and was caught stealing just once. Piontek was also used as a pitcher. He had 18 innings pitched with a 1-2 record and one save. He gave up 27 hits and 14 runs with 12 strike outs and nine walks. ERA 2.72.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
