The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Spencer is the Ace of the pitching staff with a 4-0 record. He has given up just one run this season and currently sports an earned run average of .33. Spencer has allowed 11 hits in 21 innings but no extra base hits. He has struck out 16 while walking two for a strike out to walk ratio of 8.1.

Jon Jay doubled and scored on Kolten Wong's sac-fly in the eighth as the Cardinals clipped the Reds 2-1 at Busch Stadium. Matt Carpenter homered in the first for St. Louis, which swept the three-game series. Adam Wainwright outdueled Cincinnati's Mike Leake for his second win.
