Villa Ridge Mother Posts Bail Just in Time to Deliver Baby

A Villa Ridge woman almost had her baby shower in the Franklin County Jail. A Franklin County Narcotics Deputy was searching for a suspect at the Sunset Motel in Villa Ridge when he noticed something suspicious in another hotel room. The door of the room was open, and inside the officer saw two women smoking synthetic marijuana, also known as K2. One of the women, 24 year old Michelle Roberts, was arrested on active warrants. The other 23 year old female was identified as the mother of 4 children who were also in the hotel room. According to police, The very pregnant woman’s fifth child is due today. The two women were taken to Franklin County Jail and posted bail last night. Child services were contacted. Her name is being with held pending charges.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Basketball Player Hailey Diestelkamp with the Owensville Dutchgirls. She recently became the all-time scoring leader at Owensville High School surpassing Katie Davis. Hailey played volleyball her first two years of high school, but after suffering an injury playing basketball last summer, she decided to focus on basketball this year. Hailey runs track in the spring.

Saint Louis erased a nine-point second half deficit and had a shot to win it late, but fell 60-56 against UMass Saturday in a thrilling Atlantic 10 Conference game at Chaifetz Arena. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Billikens, who fall to 9-12 overall and 1-7 in league play. UMass improves to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the A-10. The Billikens had the ball down by two with the shot clock off.
