Union Police are Searching for a Shoplifting Suspect

Union Police are searching for a shoplifting suspect. A Wal-Mart security guard attempted to stop a 28-year-old woman from Labadie after noticing the woman concealed several items in two purses. When the suspect was confronted, she fled toward highway 50 and dropped a gallon of milk but held on to the stolen items. The suspect’s vehicle information was obtained by Union Police and was later stopped by sheriff’s deputies near Hwy. 44 and Gray Summit. The woman was not located at the time of the stop but personal items belonging to the suspect were found and secured as evidence. The suspect has prior encounters with law enforcement and active warrants for her arrest.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
