Union Boy Hit By Car

An 11 year old boy was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car while riding his bike. It happened at 5:25 on the evening of 10/23/2012 at the intersection of Virginia and McKinley in Union. Police say 11 year old Jeremiah Cooper was riding westbound on Virginia when he rode into the path of a northbound car driven by 26 year old Tatia Otten of Union. Cooper was taken to Mercy in Washington for treatment of moderate injuries.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Washington Senior Legion Baseball Player Trent Leimkuehler. Trent has put up some impressive numbers so far this season. The Post 218 Center fielder is currently hitting .551 with 20 runs batted in and 16 runs scored. He has two home runs, two triples and eight doubles. He also plays good defense in the outfield with good speed and a strong arm.
