Todd Akin plans to stay in senatorial race

Despite calls from his own party to drop out of the Missouri senatorial race, republican Todd Akin says he will remain on the ballot. Akin says the “Liberal media” is behind attempts to get his name off the ballot. Akin is under fire from both sides over comments he made about what he called “Legitimate rape”. On Tuesday August 21,2012, Akin tweeted “I apologized but the liberal media is trying to make me drop out”, the tweet also asked supporters to donate to his campaign.

The St. Francis Borgia/Maplewood-Richmond Heights football game this week is cancelled. Maplewood has cancelled the game due to low numbers and injuries. Borgia Athletic Director Brad Bruns has sent out word across the state that the Knights are looking for a week three opponent but the Missouri State High School Activities Association has already declared the game a 13-0 forfeit.
