Suspects in Custody for Union Break-ins

The Union Police Department has three suspects in custody after taking at least 8 reports of car break-ins over the past few days. Authorities says the two 18 year olds and a 15 year old suspect were taken into custody on Monday after a resident of Michelle Drive saw them stealing from vehicles. Police located a large amount of stolen items in the suspect’s vehicle. Police say all the reports came from owners of vehicles on the south side of Highway 50 in Union. Charges are pending against the suspects while police wait for more victims to come forward to claim stolen property. Police say that the vehicles were not locked and no windows were broken.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Senior Bethany Coons. Bethany finished the basketball season at Union averaging 11 points and eight assists per game. Coach Dusty Weiskopf says Bethany is good at handling the basketball and teams would find it difficult to press Union when Bethany was in the game because of her lateral movement. When combining her scoring and assist averages, Bethany was contributing about 25 points per game.
