Share the Harvest

Now that the main portion of deer hunting season is coming to a close, hopefully hunters are left wondering what to do with all the extra venison. During the last hunting season, approximately 6,200 deer were processed through the share the harvest program, resulting in more than 370,000 pounds of venison for needy families. Franklin County’s Share the Harvest locations include Ed’s Meat Market in Washington, William’s Brothers Meat Processing in Washington, Beaufort Meat Processing in Leslie, and Zerna’s Meat Company in Labadie. Missouri hunters have donated well over 2 million pounds of venison through the Share the Harvest Program since it began in 1992.
