Results of the Missouri General Election

The results of the Missouri general election are now official. Secretly of State Robin Carnahan certified the results of the November 6, 2012 election. Voter turnout was below the 72% mark that election officials had predicted, but Missouri still bested the nation’s 57.5% average. There is also one more official step to take in the presidential election Missouri’s ten republican presidential electors are meeting on December 17, 2012 at the capitol to officially cast their electoral college votes of Mitt Romney.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
