PSC Hearings Scheduled for Coal Ash Landfill in Labadie

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold hearings, beginning Monday, on a coal ash landfill in Labadie. Ameren Missouri seeks to expand its coal ash landfill site by April of 2016 but must first get approval by the Public Service Commission. Groups expected to attend the hearings include the Labadie Environmental Organization and the Sierra Club which both oppose the landfill. Representatives from Ameren will also attend, arguing its landfill would be safe for the surrounding environment.
