New Haven Looking at Maupin Street Reconstruction

At this week’s New Haven city council meeting the board decided a Maupin Street reconstruction project is more of a priority than an overlay of the downtown streets. City Administrator Steve Roth says Maupin Street between the old New Haven school to north of the Bates Street intersection is not in good condition. If approved the project would be a total reconstruction of the street and sidewalk along with the Locust Street and Bates Street intersections. The next step for Roth is getting together with an engineer to scope the project and come up with a cost estimate. The city would then apply for an 80/20 road improvement grant.
