Municipal Elections Set For April 2nd

The April Municipal Elections are coming up tomorrow. New haven, Gerald and St. Clair voters will be deciding on a new mayor. Alderman and council members will be elected all over Franklin County, It seems every school district will elect new board members and Washington and Union voters will vote on Propositions for their respective school districts. Franklin County Clerk Debbie Door predicts a voter turnout between 14 and 15 percent. Door says her prediction is based on averages from past April elections but with the two big school propositions in Washington and Union that number may be higher. Debbie Door would also like to encourage people to get out and vote because this election has a direct impact on your taxes. Below is a complete list of all issues on the ballot.

Early Tuesday morning, U.S. fighter jets, armed Predator and Reaper drones, and Navy ships launched airstrike attacks against ISIS, deep within Syria. While it is ironic that it was about a year ago at this time that President Obama was seriously considering strikes against Syrian leader Bashir al-Assad, sometimes threats emerge even greater than the last.
