MoDOT Prepares For Winter Storm

You may have noticed the Department of Transportation trucks out today pre-treating the roads in anticipation for tomorrow’s winter storm. MoDOT spokesperson Judy Wagner says that the trucks spray liquid salt brine/ beat juice two hours before the ice hits. Depending on if we get snow or ice, the trucks then switch over to either a rock salt and cinder mix for ice, or plowing for snow. MoDOT began pre-treating the roads yesterday and will continue into tomorrow. All motorists are advised to drive safely and make room for service trucks.
