Marthasville Woman Taken to Hospital Following Minor Accident

A Marthasville woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a two vehicle accident in Warren County. State Highway patrol say the accident happened during the afternoon on July 17, 2012 on Hw. 47 south of Legion Hall Road. 23-year old Jamie Wideman was attempting to turn left into a private driveway when she failed to yield to a south bound car driven by 71-year old Sandra Smith of Warren. The two vehicles collided and Wideman was taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington with minor injuries following the crash.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
