Lonedell Man Murdered In His Home

There was a murder reported in Lonedell Thursday night. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received a call from family members of William J. Osborn when they had not heard from him and were concerned for his wellbeing. Police forced their way into the house, located in the 1000 block of Osborn Lane in Lonedell, where they found Osborn on the floor with a fatal gunshot wound. It was also determined that firearms, a motorcycle, and the victim’s truck were missing. Investigators learned that the victim’s 33 year old son had recently sold a firearm in St. Clair that belonged to the victim. Deputies, St. Clair Police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol began looking for the son who was located in Crescent Lake Village in St. Clair. He was arrested by St. Clair Police and later admitted to the homicide. Osborn’s truck was located in the city of St. Clair but the motorcycle and some firearms are still missing. The suspect is a 33 year old white male from St. Clair. His name is being withheld pending issuance of warrants.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-0 Senior Forward Megan Jensen with the St. Francis Borgia Girls Basketball Team. Megan scored 24 points leading Borgia to a 52-47 win over Cardinal Ritter in the championship game of the Borgia/Competitive Edge Tournament Saturday afternoon. In three tournament games last week. Megan scored 63 points and earned MVP honors.

Jacob Klenke scored 12 points and Tom Hennessey added nine leading Pacific to a 50-40 win over the St. Clair Bulldogs. Pacific improves to 11-9 and 4-0 in the Four Rivers Conference. Nick Hill drained 16 for St. Clair, now 6-12 and 0-4.

Sullivan kept pace with Pacific in the conference standings with a 62-57 win over St. James. Cody McKinney scored 14 for the Eagles, now 16-4 and 4-0.
