Franklin County Transportation Funding List Released

The highway 47 corridor project, among other Franklin County road improvements is included in the Department of transportation’s bid to get voters behind a ¾ cent sales tax increase. The plan released by MoDot Friday includes a major road project on highway 47 from Washington to St. Clair. It also includes Safety improvement projects on Highways KK, BB, O, MM, Double O, FF and Highway 100 west of New Haven. The dollar amount of the proposed list of Franklin County transportation projects funded by the sales tax increase was not included in the proposal but the post Dispatch estimates the wish list to be around $53 million dollars with 40 million of that going toward highway 47. Open house public meetings have been scheduled in every region of the state so local transportation planners and MoDOT representatives can answer questions and take comments about the draft list. The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-7 Junior Center Alex Movila from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. He scored a combined 61-points in three games of the Borgia/Pepsi Thanksgiving Tournament last week. Alex led the team in all three games with 21 against Fatima in the first round and 16 in the second round against Carnahan and 24 against North Tech in the Gold Championship game.
