Franklin County Sherriff's Office Holds Checkpoints

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office held sobriety checkpoints over the weekend of September 14th-16th. The locations of the checkpoints were at the intersection of Highway 100 and Coleman and the intersection of Highway 100 and Highway MM. The deputies arrested three people for DWI’S, two minors in possession of alcohol, three suspended licenses, and two fugitives were arrested. There was one drug arrest and 65 warrants were issued. Funding for the checkpoints comes from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven. He is also a very good student.

The Champions Tour comes to St. Louis for the Senior PGA Championship this week. This year's host course, Bellerive Country Club, has hosted the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Senior Open and two U.S. Mid-Amateur championships. The course will also host the 100th annual PGA Championship in 2018.
