Founder's Day in Union

Founder’s Day in Union is coming up this weekend. Come on out to the city park for a full day of family fun and music on Saturday. The Union Chamber 5 and 10k walk starts at 7:30 on Friday. Then the community is invited to the main pavilion in the city park for the Founders Day celebration on Saturday. The 3 on 3 kids basketball tournament begins at 8:30 and the Miller Light Washer Tournament kicks off at 1pm. Numerous activities are scheduled throughout the day for kids and adults. The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Ross Seitter with the Washington Senior American Legion Baseball Team. Seitter's batting average is .355 with an on-base percentage of .481. He is second on the team in stolen bases with 16 and he hasn't been thrown out this year. Ross bats second in the lineup with 26 rbi's and 45 runs scored.

The 64 American Legion Baseball teams who won their state tournament will now compete in their respective division's regional tournament today through Sunday. One team from each region will advance to the Legion's 89th World Series, August 13th through 18th in Shelby, North Carolina.
