Washington city officials say the earliest that the annexation proposal could be on the election ballot is August of 2013. The annexation takes in property to the west, south, and east of the existing city limits including the land off old Highway 100 owned by the Washington School District. Mayor Sandy Lucy says the city council held a workshop as part of its meeting on October 1, 2012. She says it featured about 90-minuts of discussion following a presentation from economic development director Darren Lamb. Officials say several organizations have officially endorsed the proposal.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
