Deputies Investigate Gerald Thefts

The amount of thefts in the Gerald area has gone up dramatically lately, and it caught the attention of the Franklin County Sheriff’s office. In the past month, thefts were reported on Highway H, Old Highway 50 and highway C. Items stolen range from bows, chain saws, firearms, jewelry, tools, lawn mowers, electronics, and a Kubota tractor and 8 foot brush hog. Residents in the area are requested to report any suspicious activity, especially around abandon homes or homes where the residents may be gone for a period of time. Citizens with any information are requested to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 636-583-2567. Callers can remain anonymous if requested.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

Wily Peralta pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 at Miller Park. Peralta allowed six hits and a walk over six and a third innings to improve to 2-and-0 with the win. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jonathan Lucroy singled home two runs for Milwaukee, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Joe Kelly gave up just an unearned run in four innings, but took the loss.
