Dangerous Wolf Captured

The search for an escaped wolf is now over. The owner of the grey wolf, who escaped its enclosure in Robertsville about a month ago, was able to trap the animal this morning unharmed. The wolf was one of two that escaped while the owner was attempting to feed them. The first wolf was shot and killed by a property owner the following day but the second wolf had managed to elude capture since June 9th. the owner finally caught the animal when he set a snare trap in Robertsville. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department appreciates all the calls they got regarding possible sightings.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Taylor Covington with the New Haven Track and Field Team. Taylor earned All-State honors medaling in four events at the state track meet at Lincoln University in Jefferson City Friday and Saturday. She ran anchor on the 4X800 relay team that finished in sixth place.

Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.

In Senior Legion Baseball...
Washington improved to 2-0 with a 2-1 win over Creve Coeur at Ronsick Field. Matt Miller scored the winning run on a sac fly in foul ground off the bat of Matt McGilvray in the bottom of the seventh inning. The left fielder made a spectacular catch, but Miller tagged up and headed home with the winning run. Spencer Juergens was the winning pitcher.
