All Washington Schools Now Have Air Conditioning

While many local area schools have a plan in place if temperatures get too hot, Washington superintendent Dr. Van Leer says that the Washington school district should not have a problem staying cool. Washington superintendent Lori Van Leer was on the Morning Show announcing that all Washington Schools now have air conditioning. Van Leer says the district partnered with the parent teacher committee to buy window units for the classrooms at South Point.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Seth Schenck. The New Haven Junior won the state title in the the 800 meter run at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. His time of 1:59.20 set a new school record. Seth also took second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:30.49 and anchored the 4X800 relay team that captured seventh place. Seth also played basketball and ran cross country in his junior year at New Haven.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships get underway Friday in Classes 3 and 4. 70 local athletes representing, Washington, Borgia, Union, St. Clair, Pacific, Sullivan, Warrenton, Owensville and St. James will compete in the two day event at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
