$50,000 in Marijuana Plants Seized in St. Clair

A St. Clair Couple is in big trouble after they were found with nearly 50 thousand dollars worth of marijuana in their house on Wednesday afternoon. The Franklin County Narcotics Unit was greeted by a married couple in their 50s and a strong smell of fresh marijuana when they knocked on the door of a home located on the 1900 block of North Commercial just east of St. Clair. A search of the house turned up 22 plants ranging in size from one to six feet high. Corporal Scott Briggs with the Narcotics unit says when you add all those plants plus a large amount of harvested pot you get a street value around 45 to 50 thousand dollars. The 56 year old husband and his 58 year old wife have a very short criminal record, just turning up a misdemeanor marijuana charge from quite a few years ago. Deputies, who also seized items associated with growing marijuana like lights and fans, said this pot was grown and most likely sold locally.

"No Justice, No Peace"

Certainly, there was no peace on the streets of Ferguson on the night the grand jury announced it would not indict police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown.

The images of a city burning were disturbing, saddening and sickening. Every business torched leaves in its wake families who have lost their source of income, and a community that will find it that much harder to rebuild.
